Enhancing catalytic activity and stability for CO2 methanation on Ni@MOF-5 via control of active species dispersion.
A novel, highly active catalyst Ni@MOF-5 showed unexpected activity at low temperature for CO2 methanation. The characterization results indicated that Ni was uniformly and highly dispersed over MOF-5. This catalyst showed high stability and almost no deactivation in long term stability tests up to 100 h.

A perovskite-structured barium zirconate, BaZrO3 (BZ), support is demonstrated to enhance the activity, relative to γ-Al2O3, of Co nanoparticle catalysts decorated with Pt for CO2 methanation. The CO2 methanation reaction may play a central role in both CO2 utilization and energy storage strategies for renewable energy. These catalysts require cooperative hydrogen transport between the supporte...

The production of methane by reacting CO2 with H2 (CO2 methanation) has the potential for producing synthetic natural gas, which could be exported using the existing infrastructure for the distribution of natural gas. The methanation of CO2 was investigated over a wide range of partial pressures of products and reactants using (i) a gradientless, spinning-basket reactor operated in batch mode a...
متن کاملTitanium-decorated graphene oxide for carbon monoxide capture and separation.
We propose titanium-decorated graphene oxide (Ti-GO) as an ideal sorbent for carbon monoxide (CO) capture and separation from gas mixtures. Based on first-principles calculations, Ti-GO exhibits a large binding energy of ~70 kJ mol(-1) for CO molecules, while the binding energies for other gases, such as N(2), CO(2), and CH(4), are significantly smaller. The gas adsorption properties of Ti-GO a...
متن کاملSwitchable graphene-substrate coupling through formation/dissolution of an intercalated Ni-carbide layer
Control over the film-substrate interaction is key to the exploitation of graphene's unique electronic properties. Typically, a buffer layer is irreversibly intercalated "from above" to ensure decoupling. For graphene/Ni(111) we instead tune the film interaction "from below". By temperature controlling the formation/dissolution of a carbide layer under rotated graphene domains, we reversibly sw...
